Discover osteopathy
Osteopathy was founded in the late 19th century(1874) by Andrew Taylor Still, an American physician who became dissatisfied with the medical practices of his time, which often relied heavily on drugs and invasive treatments with limited effectiveness. After personal losses and deep observation of the human body, Still developed a new philosophy of medicine rooted in anatomy, physiology, and the body’s innate intelligence.
His core idea was that the body contains everything it needs to heal itself, provided that blood flow, nerve supply, and mechanical balance are not obstructed. He believed that structure governs function, and that by restoring mobility and balance within the body, health can naturally follow.
Today, osteopathy continues to honor this original vision, combining precise manual treatment, scientific knowledge, and a deep respect for the body’s ability to heal, while adapting to modern healthcare and evidence-based practice.
Beyond symptom relief
Osteopathy at SoOsteo focuses on treating the cause, not just the symptom. We aim to improve how your body moves and functions so it can heal itself, offering lasting relief and a bridge between structure and function.
This support is provided by identifying and addressing areas of restriction, imbalance, or altered movement within the body. By improving mobility, circulation, nerve function, and overall coordination between body systems, osteopathic care aims to create the conditions needed for the body to function more efficiently and comfortably.
Experience gentle, personalized osteopathic care focused on treating your body as a whole. Clients often experience reduced pain and tension, improved movement and balance, nervous system regulation and relaxation.
